Dr. Abhay Shendye - Personal Intro Narrative

Hi, I'm Dr. Abhay Shendye.

My journey with soil and health began in childhood. I grew up helping on our family farm, learning to cook alongside my grandmother—especially the festive Diwali Faral—and observing my grandfather, an Ayurvedic practitioner, care for our community. These early experiences shaped my understanding of how food, health, and livelihoods are deeply interconnected.

As a microbiologist, I’ve dedicated my professional life to sustainable agriculture and food systems. I've worked on bio-fertilizers, bio-pesticides, plant growth promoters, and natural plant defense solutions—non-toxic innovations that make farming more sustainable. I spent over seven years volunteering with a grassroots agri-development initiative, consulted on organic transitions, and developed bio-products to preserve the post-harvest quality of fruits and vegetables.

My work has taken me to thousands of farmers across India and abroad, listening to their challenges and building practical, science-backed solutions. I’ve also continued hands-on research to unlock better ways of processing perishable crops without losing their nutrition or taste.

Here’s what I believe: farmers can grow high-quality, residue-free produce—like organic tomatoes with 10× more lycopene. But selling such produce is not easy. Lower yield means each farmer needs thousands of customers buying small quantities. That’s why smart, delicate processing is essential. It ensures better shelf life, affordability, and impact at scale.

Our team has developed such processing technologies (now under patenting) to create exciting new products—delicious, nutritious, and cost-effective. We’ve secured FSSAI licenses, GST compliance, and independent nutritional validation from NABL-accredited labs. But this is still early stage. We’re pre-launch, and the manufacturing company is yet to be formally incorporated.

This project—SoiltoHealth—is about more than products. It’s a community movement. A healthier tomorrow can only happen if we have many like-minded individuals like you.

So, we’re starting with pre-orders. Soon, we’ll launch a blog to share deep insights on the soil–nutrition–health connection.

Join us in growing a tastier, fairer, and more resilient future.
