But….

Does this provide the best nutrition to the consumers today? Does the farmer get rewarded for his hard work?

Answers to both these are largely negative, and Hence….

We need to build a system that will do good for both consumers and farmers.

Project SoiltoHealth is an attempt to practically build a system for providing healthy food.

From Farm to fork... From quality of crop (raw material) to shelf stability of the food product…..

This involves various intermediate stakeholders - multiple levels of processors, stockiest, traders, transporters - the main ones that need mention.

We need to focus on each stakeholder of this value chain.

Working in this space for more than 30 years, I realized that one ‘Quality Conscious Processing Unit’ is key to build whole value chain. Let’s see how…

One farmer – producing less than 10 Mt perishables needs may be tens of thousands on consumers to sell his total produce.

While a single processor supplying 10,000 retail packs – may be only to a few local distributors – can process a few hundred Mt per anum.

So one processor can satisfy a few hundred farmers, only when he gets linked with about a hundred-thousand consumers.

Consumers are becoming keen about having healthy foods.

Over last few years consumers searching for healthy foods have increased by five folds within India. They need to know more about better food options.

They need to know what they must consume. Why… When… How much…. And much more

They must know how to validate good food.

More and more such options of healthy food must be available to them at a right price point.
This blog will help consumers with all these points.

Let us build a transparent and traceable platform, where good food means health, sustainability, and economic dignity to each stakeholder.
